Dr Rumal Jayalath is a neurosurgeon who studied medicine at James Cook University then underwent specialist neurosurgery training at leading centres around Australia. She is actively involved in training young surgical registrars and recently acted as joint neurosurgery convener for the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons annual meeting in Brisbane. She is also a regular examiner for the college of surgeons. Dr Jayalath works both publically and privately at Princess Alexandra Hospital and Greenslopes Private Hospital. Her practice encompasses all aspects of general neurosurgery and spine surgery. Dr Jayalath has a special interest in cerebrovascular surgery and brain tumours.
