Adam has worked in the medical careers arena for approximately two years now. One of his main roles was working as a careers coach for GPs wanting to move from being full-time clinicians to GPs with a part-time clinical practice as part of a ‘portfolio’ of roles. During this role he deepened his knowledge of LinkedIn from being that of merely a user to someone advising others on profile development.
He has reviewed numerous CVs and been on multiple interview panels, including positions as far-ranging as prospective medical student to healthcare organisation CEO. His background is that of a qualified GP and Barrister-at-Law from the UK and he is now living in Australia for the foreseeable future.
He has held various medical education posts and has worked in medical leadership roles (including as an Assistant Medical Director, Urgent Care Centre Medical Lead, Board Director (both executive and non-executive) and Local Medical Committee Vice-Chair) since 2016.
Adam is currently completing his life coaching studies and is moving on to his leadership and executive coach training soon. He is aiming to specialise in coaching doctors, medical leaders and healthcare organisation executives with a view to helping prevent burnout and enable leaders and executives to promote positive cultures within their organisations.

“AdvanceMed has been instrumental in helping me to navigate the application process for a BPT position. AdvanceMed’s workshop on Medical Career Planning, online CV review and interview coaching provide a personal touch to each of the participants with detailed step-by-step guide. Through the continual support and guidance of Dr Anthony Llewellyn, I was successful in obtaining a BPT position at Westmead hospital.”

“AdvanceMed was crucial in my interview process, and I doubt I would have been successful without him. His service helped on a number of levels. It helped me get over the performance anxiety. Given that first impressions matter so much, coming in with confidence helps a lot. Secondly, Anthony went through a range of questions. This afforded me the luxury of being prepared for the common questions, having a practice run at those I was uncertain answering, and also dealing with curve-ball questions with poise. Anthony’s feedback made the actual interview almost effortless.”

“Thanks for this great video Anthony! I’m a final year medical student and had no idea of how to go about creating a resume to apply for internship jobs! Your videos were very useful to help me write a career goal statement, which I would not have included otherwise!!”
