Dr James Edwards

Dr James Edwards is the Director of the Emergency Department at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital (RPAH). James is also the Clinical Chair of the NSW Prevocational Training council at the Health Education and Training Institute (HETI) and previously held the position of Director of Prevocational Education and Training at RPAH for six years. In the Sydney University Medical Program, he chairs the Pre-internship program that aims to smooth the transition from medical school to internship. James has a strong interest in teaching and education and has completed a Masters of Medical Education at the University of Sydney. He was awarded the NSW Geoff Marel award in 2013 in recognition of his contribution to the welfare and education of junior doctors. James is also the founder of the website onthewards which is designed to assist medical practitioners in their earliest days of postgraduate practice.
Dr Alan Giles

Dr Alan Giles is an Emergency Physician and Medical Educator based in Sydney. He divides his time between working clinically and as the Director of the Hospital Skills program in SSWLHD and SLHD. He hosts the EMcast podcast and creates the “EM topics in 1 coffee” youtube video series. In medicine, his interests are firmly in delivering excellent clinical care whilst using multimodal approaches to delivering education. Married with 2 adult children and 1 ageing cat he travels widely either volunteering or simply for pleasure. Despite starting multiple times he still cannot speak Spanish.

Dr Natalie Klees has successfully applied for both Radiology training and now Medical Administration Trainee. As a Medical Admin Trainee, Natalie has been involved in numerous recruitment exercises for both junior and senior doctor jobs.
Dr Rachel Seaniger

Dr Rachel Seaniger is a medical graduate of the University of New England. She worked for Hunter New England Health, training in Psychiatry. In 2017-18 she held a joint position as an education registrar alongside her Psychiatry training. In 2018 she made the leap to primarily academic work for the University of Newcastle as an associate lecturer in Phase 1 of the JMP MD program and commenced a Masters of Clinical Education at Melbourne University. This year she was successful in progressing to the Year 1 Course Coordinator role as a full-time lecturer.

Dr Abhinav Aggarwal is an Orthopaedic Advanced Trainee based in Sydney, NSW. He is due to complete the Orthopaedic Fellowship Exam soon after which he will pursue a fellowship in hand surgery. He is passionate about helping trainees through the challenges of surgical training selection. He spends the majority of his spare time going on walks and giving cuddles to his little 8-month old puppy Moose.

Dr. Ashe Coxon is a General Practitioner and career counsellor and is the founder of Medical Career Planning. Ashe started to develop an interest in career development for doctors whilst attempting to construct her career pathway in her early postgraduate training.
On completion of her General Practice training, she began her Masters of Clinical Education and worked in medical education with GP registrars. Her passion for career development in doctors grew and she completed her career development degree with the aim of assisting doctors with their personal career journey.

Dr Amy Imms

The Burnout Project
Dr Amy Imms is passionate about the prevention and management of burnout, particularly among health professionals. She has spent the last four years assisting people with burnout through telehealth counselling, workshops, and writing her book ‘Burnout: your first ten steps’. In 2019 she launched The Burnout Project, which provides Burnout Packages designed to aid individuals in recognising and beginning to manage burnout.

Graham has been a Medical Educator with GP Synergy since 2010. He was formerly the Director of Pre-vocational Education and Training until PGPPP concluded in 2014.
Graham has previously worked as a GP at the Aboriginal Medical Service in Redfern, as well as looking after patients who had recently been released from jail through Justice Health’s Care Navigation Support program.
He currently works as a GP in travel medicine. Graham has a long-standing interest in education and has continued involvement with undergraduate teaching at UNSW, as well as music education as a qualified music teacher.

Dr Amandeep Hansra is a locally trained specialist General Practitioner who has worked both nationally and overseas and continues to work in clinical medicine at a General Practice in Bondi, Sydney. She has a passion for startups and supporting women in Medicine and was awarded “Women Leading in Business Scholarship” for the Global Executive MBA at the University of Sydney.
Her past career has included both public, volunteer and private work, as well as in Aboriginal Health, Refugee Health, Occupational Medicine and Travel Medicine. She is a Fellow of the RACGP, an examiner for the College, holds a Master’s in Public Health and Tropical Medicine, the Australia Certificate in Civil Aviation Medicine, mentors junior doctors through the AMA and has completed the Company Directors Course through AICD.
Amandeep is a leader in digital health and telehealth services in Australia. Amandeep co-founded Evermed Consulting and provides consulting services to insurers, startups, health services, investors and businesses. She was most recently the CEO & Medical Director of Telstra’s telemedicine business ReadyCare; a joint venture between Telstra and Medgate, Switzerland’s leading telemedicine provider. She also served as the Chief Medical Officer for Telstra Health and separately has assisted Medgate in setting up a telemedicine business in the Philippines where she remains the Chair of the Clinical Advisory Board.
Dr Adam Harrison

Adam has worked in the medical careers arena for approximately three years now.
One of his main roles was working as a careers coach for GPs wanting to move from being full-time clinicians to GPs with a part-time clinical practice as part of a ‘portfolio’ of roles. During this role he deepened his knowledge of LinkedIn from being that of merely a user to someone advising others on profile development.
He has reviewed numerous CVs and been on multiple interview panels, including positions as far-ranging as prospective medical students to healthcare organisation CEO.
His background is that of a qualified GP and Barrister-at-Law from the UK and he is now living between Australia and New Zealand for the foreseeable future.
He has held various medical education posts and has worked in medical leadership roles (including as an Assistant Medical Director, Urgent Care Centre Medical Lead, Board Director (both executive and non-executive) and Local Medical Committee Vice-Chair) since 2016. He, therefore, has lived experience of multiple career transitions.
He is a big fan of social media, being a LinkedIn-er, Facebook-er (both personally and professionally), tweeter, a YouTube channel and content creator and a Clubhouse club co-founder.

Dr Vanessa Moran

Vanessa is the current Director of Education and Training ACT & NSW and has been a medical educator for 9 years with GP Synergy. She is also a GP in the Inner West of Sydney where she has been working for over 10 years. Vanessa is passionate about general practice and general practice training. Her goal is to continue to provide excellent medical care for her patients, train highly skilled registrars, supervisors and medical educators by fostering curiosity and leadership. Vanessa continues to promote primary health care to the wider community to improve the health outcomes of GPs and the community. She appreciates the value and reach of contemporary platforms such as social media and online learning and thrives on the challenge of innovating, creating and completing programs and platforms to meet her vision.

Dr Brooke Bullock is a Pharmacist currently practicing across numerous diverse environments; as a Medical Education Officer in the Emergency department at Gold Coast Health, as a Researcher having completed her PhD in 2020 through the University of Queensland and the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital and as An Accredited Pharmacist with the Australian Association of Consultant Pharmacists.
Brooke has a long-standing interest in medical officer recruitment which stems from a belief that preparing for an interview should be like preparing for one of the biggest exams of your career. Brooke has been working as a medical interview coach for six years with a keen interest in specialty program and fellowship interviews.
Dr Elie Matar

Dr Elie Matar is a Neurology Advanced Trainee based at Westmead Hospital in Sydney. As Vice President of onthewards.org and a clinical lecturer and NHMRC postgraduate PhD scholar, Elie is passionate about medical education, research and innovations in medicine. Elie has contributed to peer-reviewed publications and textbooks in the fields of medical education and neurology. In 2019-2020 he was an Endeavour Leadership fellow based at the University of Cambridge, and was a visiting clinician at the Mayo Clinic, Rochester (US). He regularly presents his work at local and international conferences and given several invited international lectures including most recently at the University of Newcastle, and the National Hospital of Neurology and Neurosurgery in London.
